Approximately 500 Cape Verdeans who reside in the Boston area purchased tickets to Friday’s game to see fellow native Edy Tavares. The 7-foot-3 center was sent to the D-League earlier in the week and was scheduled to play for the Austin Spurs Friday. … The Hawks announced the continuation of their concert series with an appearance by Jeezy on Nov. 30 when the Hawks host the Spurs. … The Hawks 4-0 road record to start a season is tied for second in franchise history. The record is five by the St. Louis Hawks in 1967-68.
