The Wizards backcourt duo of John Wall and Bradley Beal combined to score 46 points in their team’s Game 1 victory.
In preparation for Game 2, the Hawks said they must do a better job stopping the guard – especially at the point of attack. Wall had 18 points and 13 rebounds and Beal had a game-high 28 points.
“They are good players and a lot of their plays run through them,” Hawks guard Jeff Teague said. “It’s tough when they get the ball 95 percent of the time between the both of them. We are just going to have to do a good job on them and make all their shots tough.”
The Hawks will live with Wall taking the majority of the Wizards’ shots.
“I think we’ve got to put more pressure on the ball and John Wall at half court,” Dennis Schroder said. “Let John Wall take 20 shots and make them but we can’t afford for him to kick it out to Bradley Beal and have him take all those 3’s. We’ve got to figure out that.”
