NEW YORK — DeMarre Carroll is averaging 22.0 points with a .595 field goal percentage in the last three games of the Hawks-Nets Eastern Conference quarterfinal playoff series. He is the first Hawks player to score 20-or-more points in three consecutive playoff games since Jamal Crawford did it four straight times in 2011.
I asked coach Mike Budenholzer before Game 6 Friday if the Nets were not paying close enough attention to Carroll.
“I can’t put my finger on anything,” Budenholzer said. “Hopefully, there are lots of opportunities for everybody. We want everybody to be aggressive and take advantage of those and DeMarre, so far, has had a good number and taken advantage of them at an efficient rate. We’ll continue to take advantage wherever we can.”
