Hawks playoff watch: Heat falter again

The Heat dropped another half-game out of the race for the final two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference with a defeat to the Raptors Saturday.

The Heat are 2-1/2 games out of the No. 8 spot with only two games to play. The Heat can only get to 37 wins – the number the Celtics and Nets  already have at the the No. 7 and No. 8 spots.

The No. 1 Hawks would currently open against the Nets. That could change today. There are several important games in the race as the Celtics, Nets and Pacers all play.

Here’s how things stand in the Eastern Conference for the final two spots:

7. Boston          (37-42)    23.0 GB     3 games remaining

8. Brooklyn      (37-42)     23.0 GB    3 games remaining

9. Indiana         (36-43)    24.0 GB    3 games remaining

10. Miami         (35-45)    25.5 GB     2 games remaining
