SACRAMENTO — Al Horford will get his night off.
One night after the Hawks rested three starters in Jeff Teague, DeMarre Carroll and Paul Millsap, the team sat their center Monday night against the Kings. The Hawks will also be without starting guard Kyle Korver, who will miss at least the next three games with a broken nose.
The Hawks started Elton Brand in place of Horford and Kent Bazemore in place of Korver. Teague, Carroll and Millsap return to the lineup.
“Kent is an elite wing defender and having him and DeMarre start on the wing, hopefully, we can start with a really good defensive mindset and be good on that end of the court,” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. “I think the way he has shot the 3-ball, his shooting has been good. And he can attack and get to the basket. He is just growing on both ends of the court – rebounds, blocked shots – he has a big impact on the game.”
