The Hawks will see a new look offensively with the Bucks tonight.
The surprising Bucks enter the game 14-15 and sixth in the Eastern Conference under new head coach Jason Kidd.
“We are going to have to do a good job defensively,” Al Horford said. “They have a lot of different offensive action that we haven’t seen before. …
“They do a lot of guard-to-guard screens. Their bigs are really good passers, especially Zaza (Pachulia).”
Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said the Bucks’ roster allows them flexibility.
“They can mix and match in different sizes and different skills probably more so than any team in the league. Offensively, they are doing something that, I wouldn’t say is so unique, but playing through the elbows and splits and screens. The different people they can put in different spots makes them a little bit unique.”
The Bucks will be without Larry Sanders (illness) and Ersan Ilyasova (concussion). John Henson (left foot sprain) will be limited minutes. The Bucks will start Brandon Knight, Kendall Marshal (in place of O.J. Mayo), Giannis Antekounmpo, Zaza Pachulia and Johnny O’Bryant.
The Hawks will return to their regular starting lineup of Jeff Teague, Kyle Korver, DeMarre Carroll, Paul Millsap and Horford. Pero Antic (right ankle sprain) and John Jenkins will be inactive. Rookie Adreian Payne will be active for only the second time this season.
