John Jenkins scored a team-high 15 points for the Hawks in a 93-88 exhibition loss to the Grizzlies Saturday night in Memphis.
Jenkins also led the Hawks (1-1) in scoring with 13 points in their exhibition season opening win over the Pelicans Monday.
Mike Conley led the Grizzlies (1-2) with a game-high 23 points and Marc Gasol added 21 points and 13 rebounds as each played into the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies outscored the Hawks 26-19 in the first quarter and didn’t trail the remainder of the game.
The Hawks also got double-figure scoring from Dennis Schroder (14 points), Shelvin Mack (11) and Mike Scott (10). Schroder added three assists, Mack had eight assists and Scott added six rebounds and four assists. Mike Muscala, who started at center, added nine points and five rebounds. Rookie Adreian Payne did not score but had a team-high eight rebounds and four blocks.
The Hawks also started Jeff Teague, Kyle Korver, DeMarre Carroll and Paul Millsap, all who played between 12 and 20 minutes.
Pero Antic (nose) did not travel with the Hawks. Al Horford (pectoral) and Kent Bazemore (foot) travelled to Memphis but did not play. Elton Brand also did not play.
The Hawks next exhibition game is Tuesday at the Heat.
